TOWNSHIP RESIDENTIAL
RECYCLING—Recycle
for Wildlife
will be in Almelund on June 11 (Wed.) and 12 (Thurs.) from
4—7 p.m. (If you are still in line at 7 p.m., your items
will be accepted.)
For a reasonable fee, they will take your
unwanted residential items
Appliances, tires, electronic equipment, televisions,
computers, scrap iron and more!
Payment
must be in cash—no checks, no credit/debit cards
Bring these items to Almelund on those days and hours only,
following the signs to the site near the Fire Hall.
NOTE:
DO NOT DROP OFF ITEMS BEFORE OR AFTER THOSE HOURS.
The site will be monitored and you will be fined in addition
to the cost of removal. DO NOT BLOCK TRAFFIC ON PARK TRAIL!

HELP us celebrate
FLAG DAY and AMADOR Township's 150th Birthday!

potluck picnic lunch, old fashioned games for kids of all
ages.

of war and other fun!

2008 PHOTOGRAPH CONTEST - take
a picture of something in Amador Township, frame it and
submit it to one of the Amador Township Officials by
September 1. You may submit one to four photographs. There is no
limitation on subject matter, just use good taste, please. Label the back of the picture with your name and address
along with the picture information (include location).
All photographs will become the property of the township.
Photo's will be judged at the September 21 Apple Festival.

Welcome to Almelund and Amador
Township. Please stop by this website often for more

This web seeks to
acquaint with our area and to provide you with information
about city committees and organizations which offer citizens
the opportunity to become involved in shaping the quality of
life in our community
Almelund is located at the
intersection of State Highway #95 and CSAH #12. We are
approximately 45 miles north of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Amador Township is part of Chisago County with a 2000
population of
744 people, 264 households, and 199 families residing in the
township.
Township demographics
include the following:
The
population density was 9.6/km˛ (24.9/mi˛). There were 282
housing units at an average density of 3.6/km˛ (9.4/mi˛). The
racial makeup of the township was 98.79%
White, 0.27%
African American, 0.27%
Asian, 0.40% from
other races, and 0.27% from two or more races.
Hispanic or
Latino of any race were 0.94% of the population.
There were 264
households out of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18
living with them, 67.0% were
married couples living together, 3.0% had a female
householder with no husband present, and 24.6% were
non-families. 15.2% of all households were made up of
individuals and 5.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years
of age or older. The average household size was 2.82 and the
average family size was 3.18. In the township the
population was spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 6.3%
from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and
9.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38
years. For every 100 females there were 117.5 males. For every
100 females age 18 and over, there were 114.6 males. (Wikipedia)
